Still going for losing about twenty pounds. the first six off were easy, now comes the hard part. No snacks whatsoever and more exercise is the key, just got to realize it will be slow and steady. Something I read also helps: "Don't just rely on the scale to measure your weight loss. That number won't really tell you everything you need to know." I do feel that my waist has gone down a lot.
No more snow, sunny days ahead. Now, if only the Knicks can get a winning streak together.
About a week ago I hit 217 on the scale, I used to hover around 200. That did it, I increased my workouts to five days a week, 3 running, two walking. I then eliminated all snacking. I usually do that for Lent and my snacking was getting out of hand. Down to 209 now. These last 9 pounds will be hard to shed. I do feel better already.
Meryl Davis and Charlie White performed flawlessly in a tense situation. Great story behind them: years together, their moms and that they are both dating others but keeping it quiet.
Well, a Valentine's Day and no valentine. We used to have Mimosas , Godiva chocolates and then have a nice lunch. Cards , of course, mostly humorous. No such thing today but I will wear my Valentine's day tie, Sweet Tarts with messages abound on it. I also found Valentine socks and underwear she had given me. Will wear them today in her honor.
More snow, youngest son gets a snow day from his college. With the travel warnings and high winds, it is amazing that NYC Schools are open. I bet that parents will keep kids home and it will be a day of sitting around. Most Catholic schools are closed. I will drive in and may take the train home.
As usual, I will take off on Lincoln's Birthday. I plan on getting car inspected, an oil change, and tire rotations. I never used to do that, but it is suggested by my dealer and On-Star. The dealer has called twice already and I have received two e-mails about the inspection. Then, it will be Grilled Octopus time in Astoria.
After the death of my wife, I had many things to attend to like changing beneficiaries, resetting bank accounts, answering estate problems, increasing life insurance and doing taxes with a deceased spouse entry. That and cleaning and storing stuff. I was pretty organized except for one thing: I forgot to change my W-4. Now I owe about 5K. I paid about 4K last year but that was with Social Security not having withholding. By the way, what a double tax. It is taxable on the Fed at 85% of what you receive.
I changed my W-4 and now my pay will go down, better that than a big bill next April.
Four foot hero with a million extras. Best additions: a tall Peroni glass, a Brooklyn Beer hat and an 18 pack of Coors. Lousy game, commercials were tepid but leftovers will last until Thursday. That is incredible since my son brought over eight friends to watch the game. They mostly destroyed the wings, but still some left. They did bring their own beer which they took for an after party. Can't believe it is snowing again.
