Don't really care about the game, but I always celebrate the Super Bowl, the real party that New Year's Eve should be. Getting wings, a four foot hero with tons of added stuff and I will make a Chili. Will root for Denver because their QB is Eli's brother.

My youngest gets all his textbooks digitally downloaded onto his I-Pad. Useful for him, not as heavy and saves me a ton of money. Win-win all the way.

So, it is the week of my Birthday. Funny, the automated accounts that have my birthday are wishing me Happy Birthday. PC Richards gives me no interest for a year, Panera gives me a free dessert, Starbucks gives me a latte, restaurants are giving me free entrees and Chase sent me their regards. Hey Chase, how about some free money.

Another great coral sunrise. The calm before the storm. Supposed to be 8-10 inches. Think I will take the train back tonight.

Today is usually the best football day, the Super Bowl is generally anti-climatic. The AFC and NFC championships bring out good, hard football. Time for chili dogs and things I haven't figured out yet.

Was down a little yesterday, did my usual 1.3 miles on a treadmill (every other day) and all was well again. Exercise has physical and mental benefits.

W-2s coming out soon. Have to buy my tax software. Going to get soaked this year after paying an incredible amount on taxes. Like getting hit twice.

Going to the Knick game tonight, hope they make it five in a row. Point guard Eric Bledsoe is out and the Suns have lost three of their last four outings. Later on in the week, a college game. After playing in an alumni game, this has become B-Ball week.

Championship Football, time for Chili. This time I made it with Pulled Pork. The Pork Loin was cooked using Chinese take-out condiments: hot mustard, glaze and soy sauce.
Chili:
1 pound Pork Loin, pulled

2 Tablespoons Virgin Olive Oil

1 tsp. Cumin
3 tsp. Chili Powder
1 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
2 tsp. Cocoa
4 cloves garlic
1 cup beef broth
1 cup Red Wine
2 tsp. Lime Juice
2 tsp Lemon Juice
1 28 oz Marinara Sauce
1 (16 oz.) can Red Pinto Beans
In a large pot add the chopped garlic, onion , and pepper until soft. Add Sauce, broth, wine, Beer. Add cooked pulled pork, Chuck Chop, bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cover , cook until all is tender, about two hours. Serve with Dark Beer.

Bruce McCall's cover from the current New Yorker. I remember him from National Lampoon. He also has a book out now co-authored with David Letterman. I just renewed my subscription, and was able to give a gift subscription to my brother and his wife. I like the articles but I love the cartoons. The I-Pad version works well and includes audio and video.

So far the NY Knicks seem to have turned the corner. This year 3-1. Tomorrow night's game against the Heat will be telling.

Yesterday was the feast of the Epiphany. I always thought it was January 6 but it sometimes falls on an early Sunday. I also know it as take down the Christmas Tree day. Will drop it off at a local Mulch-Fest.

As I've said before, just trying to stay on an even keel.
Fig. to keep something in a steady and untroubled state. The manager cannot keep the firm on an even keel any longer. When the workers are unhappy, it is difficult to keep the factory on an even keel.
Keep an even keel: A nautical term for keeping a boat upright, not heeling over to either side. Today the expression is used when describing a persons emotions. To "keep an even keel" is to remain level headed or emotionally stable.

Just found out TWC is sending me a $100 Visa card. A promotion based on my last upgrade which gave me more stuff at a cheaper monthly rate.
Snow Day ! My boys aren't in school today but my Grand-kids all have smiles. A Snow Day is unexpected and tons of fun. Almost makes me feel like a kid again.I still have to work but on days like this I am usually there by myself since most of the staff lives on Long Island. Don't know if I am driving or will be taking a train. I think I will drive.

Big storm coming. Channel one TWC says 3-5 inches everybody else says 6-12. Is this snow bias ? The local forecasters want to be wrong on the high end because if they are incorrect people are relieved. Channel one has traditionally been the most accurate recently.
