As usual, I'm buying a bunch of Halloween candy. The prices this year are quite good: $1.88 a bag. The premise is sometimes the doorbell rings with trick or treaters. In reality, the boys and I gorge on Reese's, Kit Kat Bars, Snickers, M amd M's and Three Musketeers. I also get the 75% off a few days later too.

Junior Senior - Move Your Feet. Chromebook ad, I actually get new music from TV commercials, pretty sad but it works. I Like this song, just bought it on I-Tunes. The repetition reminds me of Pogo's Alice.

Giving Blood today. Early appointment, usually feel re-invigorated afterwards. Maybe those Middles Ages Barbers had something there. I believe making your body produce new blood must have some benefits. Plus, I get cookies and juice at the end. Maybe Halloween candy too.

Bought the Graphic novel yesterday, Blue is the Warmest Color by Julie Maroh. A coming of age love story. Touching and sad. I liked the last line: "Beyond death, the love that we shared continues to live."

I've said it before, the days don't mean much to me, my existence does not revolve around Fridays or weekends. Still, I do different things on schedule: Laundry, Greenmarket, Mass. A new thing I'm doing: trying to eat Fish at least once a week. I'm thinking of a big fish stew this weekend. Usually I do a beef Stew around the time the weather gets cooler. This time, same ingredients but Fish.

My office just got re-carpeted and I am about to get a new couch and chairs. All timed to get everything back in order and look good. Will try and do it at home too. The carpeting people in moving things found some old certificates of mine. Never put them on my wall but what the heck. Michael's had a big frame sale. Took three of them in: $471. Ouch, but again what the heck !

Some friends are taking me to London Lennies' Crabfest. I won't mention that it was the last place I took my wife to before she started slipping away. It was her birthday and we always went to London Lennies' Crabfest. She started throwing up the next day and all went downhill after that. Not the best of memories but we also went there a lot and I'll remember the good times.

My office is filled with clutter and so is my home. Time for a concerted effort to reduce the problem. Oh yeah, I have to start clearing out my storage space, it costs me $126 a month. Filled with shoes and clothes.

Getting back into reading again. I am currently reading three books and I have many in the queue. Nothing much to do, don't want to do anything else. I told a guy at work there is nothing on TV and he rattled off the great shows that are on. Don't have the time or inclination to watch them, maybe later. It took me a while to get into 24 and The Wire.

I am alone and I am not. Things are working out and I am going forward. I realize that deep down I am a private, non-outgoing person. and starting any new relationship will be almost impossible. That doesn't bother me. I have what I have and I am trying to find whatever Joy I can.

Boy, I had a lousy time. Loud, stuck at a work table, no real fun at all. Food was good and they did have good beer.

They had a Potato station. Mashed Potatoes and gravy with bacon. I passed but nice to know you could have it.

Went to a going away party for one of my staff. She was a good worker and person, I'll miss her. Now to find a replacement. Because so much time is spent together at work, you need a good worker and someone you can tolerate on a daily basis. I manage mostly women and so far it has worked out OK. They all want the new person to be male, but it looks like it will be a female. I don't care, I need a replacement.

At a retirement function last night, and a group of younger men and women were talking about menopause. I lived through my wife's menopause and survived. Some days and nights were pretty wild. The younger women who haven't had it yet asked me and another older guy if we went through Man-o-pause. We told them sports and beer prevents that.

Now that the Giants stink and the Yankees are out of the playoffs for only the second time in the last 19 years, Let's Go Knicks ! The Yankees accomplishments are amazing when you think about it. Yeah, they paid for it but they still did things with the money spent.

Just found out a friend has ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease. Getting older and the diseases pile up. Don't feel that old. Three wives have died before their time in my small circle of friends, including my own. Another friend is a recluse after three strokes.I pray for them all.

Down a little, no particular reason. Have to stay upbeat, can't be down, too much to do and enjoy. The dreams I had may be a reason. I dreamed I was in an alternate world with big caricature statues. Then, it morphed into getting my wife out of there on a motorbike. We made it into downtown Manhattan but all was dark. My motorbike's lights flickered out and we were puzzled why everything was so dark.

My existence, as such, doesn't flow in normal sequence. Fridays are not the release they used to be, just another day. Weekends mean I don't go into work.

I am beginning to feel a sense of complete freedom. There is nothing stopping me from doing anything I want. It just so happens, I have lived a simple life wrapped around marriage , family and work. Now I don't know what to do with the freedom.

Have to go to a wedding next week, a friend's daughter is getting married. Not looking forward to it but it will be a day out and about. Never liked weddings because of the routines, don't think this one will be unique.

Talk about timing, Government shut-down, first day of Obama care sign up, my oldest just aged out of my job's coverage and he wakes up feeling sick. Yikes ! I went to the NY site and it was overloaded.
