That's it for this blog. Coming up soon to the two year anniversary of her death. I am coping and adjusting. Life is lonelier and sadder but I have some nice moments here and there. I keep busy and try to appreciate each day as it is given to me. The daily thing helped and let me know the swings of each day. Time now to move on.

I went down to 190 thanks to Montezuma's Revenge. Starting to go up a bit. Can't believe I had it for seven days straight.

Boat trip cancelled. My friend got tagged for a last minute meeting. Will go to work, nothing to fill in the day and it is the start of a three day weekend. Hardly anyone there.

Last night was Ernest Borgnine night on TCM. Taped The Wild Bunch.
Pike Bishop: We're not gonna get rid of anybody! We're gonna stick together, just like it used to be! When you side with a man, you stay with him! And if you can't do that, you're like some animal, you're finished! *We're* finished! All of us!

Another shot from upstate. As kids, we would always hunt for cattails . AKA Bulrush, Typha latifolia. Once dried they burned well and kept insects away

Slim: You know you don't have to act with me, Steve. You don't have to say anything, and you don't have to do anything. Not a thing. Oh, maybe just whistle. You know how to whistle, don't you, Steve? You just put your lips together and... blow.

Yeah, I'm down but not out. I have to start thinking of all the good things and keep busy.
The full quote:
"The best thing for being sad," replied Merlyn, beginning to puff and blow, "is to learn something. That is the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then--to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the thing for you. Look at what a lot of things there are to learn--pure science, the only purity there is. You can learn astronomy in a lifetime, natural history in three, literature in six. And then, after you have exhausted a milliard lifetimes in biology and medicine and theocriticism and geography and history and economics--why, you can start to make a cartwheel out of the appropriate wood, or spend fifty years learning to begin to learn to beat your adversary at fencing. After that you can start again on mathematics, until is it is time to learn to plough."
