Laundry Day, Three loads. Special wash for a jacket with a stain that calls for a different dry cycle. One thing about me, I read and follow directions.

Happy Thanksgiving ! I have a lot to be thankful for and that is what I will concentrate on rather than looking backwards or feeling regrets.

So far, not much of a nor’easter: A nor’easter is a cyclonic storm that moves along the east coast of North America. It’s called “nor’easter” because the winds over coastal areas blow from a northeasterly direction.

Not going to stop my Pie trip. Also picking up some great looking Jelly doughnuts for a colleague's Thanksgivukkah feast.

Wild Turkeys off the road. Thanksgiving will have the usual start: Chips, Pretzels, Cheez Doodles and Wine and Cheese. Then to March of the Wooden Soldiers.

I need more motivation to do what I need to do. It will come from within. That is for both life and work. How to motivate different age groups at work is also important. My Boomer perspective is not the only one.

My chore for Thanksgiving is to bring wines and pies. Purchased the wines yesterday and I'll pick up the pies on Wednesday. Terhune Orchards is my pie place at the Greenmarket.

Seeing Walter Cronkite choke up as he announced JFK's death still makes me tear up.

Can't believe that it was 50 years ago. That day was a Friday too. I remember seeing Oswald shot live. My friend ,the conspiracy buff, was always into the amazing Organized Crime connections of both Ruby and Oswald.

Been real busy at work lately. Don't have the time to do what is needed. Don't care either.

Was a little down yesterday even with The Giants' win. Good food , wine and beer helped me fight it. Today is a busy day and lots of hanging out. Should also help.

The above quote was written by Rudy Toombs and originally recorded by Amos Milburn. John Lee Hooker added stuff and changed the order from "One Scotch, One Bourbon, One Beer" to "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer."

I was looking for Key Lime Pies in preparation for Thanksgiving. Came across Steve's Authentic Key Lime Pies. Was able to get one at Garden of Eden on 14th Street. It was delicious. Now I have to make some fresh Whipped cream.

Finally over. Got discharged at one. Went to the movies, saw Ender's Game. Senior ticket was only $10. When I traveled a lot for another job I had gotten used to to eating alone at restaurants and going to movies by myself. Not hard, just a little unsettling at first. Looking forward to The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

Still on Jury Duty, should be released today. Finished over 250 pages of The Bully Pulpit. Sort of like a mini-vacation.

Well, not that bad. Work is somewhat of a relief and I get to talk to people. Pretty sad when you think of it.

She would have been 61 this weekend. Will celebrate like we always did, Bloody Marys and Godiva Truffles. I won't do the other thing we would do, go out for a nice dinner.

Well, this weekend will be difficult. Anniversary of her birthday and the Veteran's day holiday. Both days where we celebrated and had good meals throughout town. We always had a good time during this time period.

Her last birthday was a good one and we had a great time. Then, the next day she started throwing up and it spiraled downward from there. We both knew she was in bad shape but now the body started shutting down and she was gone in three weeks.

Novemner 7, 2013

Yeah, a big loan just ended. Still advancing a big debt pay-down. Already eliminated one bill, now going to eliminate another. December has the end of another loan, going to use the $ from the paid-off bills to accelerate the spend-downs. All with thinking ahead, and knowing that in about twelve months or so, the youngest son's college loans come due. It will be manageable if I can spend down before they are due.

Regrets, I've had a few and now the Holiday season is upon us. We always went to lunch on Election Day and soon her Birthday is coming up. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve were big celebrations for us with the emphasis on family. Also, a slew of office parties.

Now , I add a new one to the mix: a Requiem Mass. I can't say I'm looking forward to this, but I will do my best to get some joy from it.

Wow, November already. Election Day, Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving. Also, what would have been my wife's 61st Birthday. It sure sucks without her but have to keep on keeping on.
Yeah, another Take Five win: $18.50 and two free tickets.
